  • Rob Postma created a blog entry Contract Management ...

According to an Aberdeen Group study contract management is a key component to customer relationship management (CRM).

The study predicts that revenues managed by a contract will increase by an average of 21 percent over the next two years. Respondents to the Aberdeen Group’s survey indicated that they “lose 9 percent of their revenue due to regulatory penalties, missed deadlines, lost sales, ‘maverick’ pricing, and transactional errors,” a substantial loss that can be attributed primarily to missing or misplaced contracts. To help companies improve customer relationships, the study recommends:

    1. Migrating contracts to contract management software, using standardized terms and language.
    2. Streamlining the entire quote-to-cash process by integrating contract management software with financial and transactional systems to reduce errors and delays.
    3. Using contract management software to track contractual obligations and commitments to customers and make contract data available to relevant stakeholders.

    My Comments:

A company can implement and deploy a contract management solution without change management and achieve benefits starting from day one. Losing nine percent sounds like big bugs to me. Big, big bugs.  This study is great marketing stuff for companies in our space and the outcome should be an eye opener for all CFO’s, CEO’s and CPO’s.

An early 2009 Contracked R&D study learned that companies all across the globe suffer from “lack in contractual visibility”.  Start working with a spreadsheet or a calendar? The solution is even more simple. Starting day one,  Contracked will help to deal with this important money saving subject.  Whitin 60 seconds up and running, no compromises. ‘We know….we meet a lot of companies, small, midsized and large. Today, they don’t lose money because they control their business because they controle their contracts, all of them! And Guess what….they even use less tme to manage them!

  • Rob Postma created a blog entry Using a Contract Man...

Service agreements, purchase orders, specifications and licenses, maintenance agreements represent a few of the contractual obligations a company or firm of any size enters into on a daily or even more frequent basis. Contracts came to represent the binding language by which two parties could enter into an agreement to conduct business. Along with this growth, legal statutes and rules have increased the complexity of contracts, thereby influencing businesses to manage contracts.

Selecting a Contract Management System can enable a company to gain a greater level of visibility and control of its contracts, its inception, its lifecycle and post execution. These systems offer ample reporting so that management and contract managers can make decisions on the state of any contract or the performance of contracts in general. That’s why!!

It was an article submitted in Q1 2010 . It says it all. I suggest starting today. Our 60 seconds deployments is free. Contracked is offering a 30 days free trial.
Guess what: You wouldn’t be the first Contracked user creating allready bottom line revenue in the first 30 days.

  • Rob Postma created a blog entry Government contract ...

The ongoing need for trained, qualified contract managers for government clients has presented contractors and state, local and federal employees with unprecedented career opportunities. The scope of Villanova’s government contract management course includes federal aquisition regulations, procurement, ethics and government property, which allows for greater control over spending and implementing better contracting processes. Villanova University is recognized worldwide as a leader in online professional education. According to Villanova the average salary of Certified Contract Managers is $102,000. According to me this salary will grow dramatically in the next couple of years. Congress Daily stated that a reduced acquisition and contracting workforce was unable to handle a surge in contracts from $154 billion in fiscal 2001 to $390 billion last year. It more than doubled in the last 9 years. This is more than an average of 10% per year.

As long as companies are involved in large, time consuming implementations, projects without a realistic contractual visibility, costs will increase, the contractual visibility (read:transparanty) will be poor and the contracual complexity will increase dramatically. Oh…..there will be more global contracts as well………..The combination between skills (e.g. Villanova University) and our successful proven Contract Management solution Contracked is key in today’s business. Customers such as Conrad Electronics (1B$+ company), Nexia Group and the Chamber of Commerce are earning bottom line revenue in quick steps. OK, I know it’s called “savings”…..who cares? Contract management is a booming field for our Customers.

That’s all for today folks. Write to you soon!
