All industry sectors go through growing pains as they evolve their services and products. The fear that these articles promote is a sure tell sign that we're well on way to solving these issues and creating further ROI.
interesting discussion! in line with the article, I think the benefits of SaaS far outweigh the disadvantages, which is why the industry has seen such a rapid uptake of SaaS and cloud technology. Besides, saas providers continue to iron out problems associated with the move to the cloud, so I imagine that in x years time we will see the disadvantages disappear. But then again, new ones may take their place..... sustainability is another matter entirely.
