Optaros has announced OCentric e-commerce SaaS, which makes use of Amazon Web Services “AWS,” to provide unique client solutions at the same price point as one-size-fits-all e-commerce SaaS vendors, according to company officials.
OCentric provides functionality traditionally found in e-commerce, Web content management and community platforms all in one package so companies can implement new retail concepts that are popular today, such as group buying, private sales, deal-a-day and more.
“Amazon Web Services provides our OCentric clients a great new SaaS option," said Marc Osofsky, vice president of global marketing at Optaros. "The economics of cloud computing now enable companies to have unique, customized solutions at the same cost as generic ones. This is a competitive advantage that our clients leverage to grow their businesses.”
Without having to wait for co-location hosting servers or commit to a fixed number of servers for a year or more, companies such as Naspers can rapidly deploy a new business with Amazon Web Services. OCentric is also powered by Magento, Drupal, Webtrends, Boomi and Solr apart from Amazon Web Services.
In addition, with the help of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), OCentric clients also get the ability to auto-scale servers to meet peak demand.
Recently, the company announced that its OCentric SaaS solution will be powered by the Magento Enterprise Platform.
