Axway, the leading global provider of multi-enterprise solutions and infrastructure, has announced the latest release of SecureTransport™, one of its award-winning managed file transfer (MFT) solutions.

Following Axway’s strategy since its merger with Tumbleweed Communications, SecureTransport now integrates with Synchrony™ Sentinel to provide visibility inside and outside the enterprise. SecureTransport also provides users of Sterling Commerce’s Connect:Direct with more open, Internet-based connectivity. Additionally, it features an expanded and enriched end-user experience for file transfers via a new Internet Client.

Pairing SecureTransport with Sentinel offers extended end-to-end visibility services for auditing and reporting on file transfer activity at a business and technical level, internally and across trading communities. The solution provides proactive notifications and real-time dashboards via powerful event processing capabilities to correlate and correct potential process problems before they become a business threat.

One company using this latest version is Insurers Administrative Corporation (IAC), a subsidiary of Independence Holding Company (IHC), and one of the nation’s largest third-party administrators (TPA)¹. IAC uses Axway’s SecureTransport with Sentinel to safeguard and monitor private patient data in transit.

Two of the new features in this release include:

Connect:Direct Transfer Site: SecureTransport interfaces with Sterling Commerce’s Connect:Direct product. Connect:Direct customers can use Axway’s SecureTransport to send, receive and manage file transfers with trading partners that do not use the proprietary Connect:Direct protocol. This new feature allows companies to accommodate their partners’ file transfer choice without mandating use of any particular protocol, making them easier to do business with.

Ad Hoc Transfer: The solution’s Rich Internet Client allows users to safely transfer files from their computers or networks to a SecureTransport server, enabling secure, ad hoc, managed file transfer. Also, users can now specify the email address of the recipient and SecureTransport provides the recipient with an email notification, which includes a link for exchanging files with the SecureTransport server. Users also have the ability to create, delete, or rename folders on the SecureTransport server.
