RJMetrics Cloud Business Intelligence Suite Raises $1.2M

It is said that 2012 is the year of BI or Business Intelligence. As SaaS companies mature and release robust APIs, data is becoming more accessible and usable, especially in understanding usage statistics and in some cases business data integrated across multiple systems. 

RJMetrics a new player on the scene has raised $1.2 million in seed financing from Goldberg, and early-stage venture capitalists, including SoftTech VC, Lerer Ventures, SV Angel and Zelkova Ventures, and other angel investors such as Wharton Professor Kartik Hosanagar and DuckDuckGo CEO Gabe Weinberg.

Database Infrastructure Company ScaleArc Raises $5.33 Million in Funding

ScaleArc, the pioneer in a new category of database infrastructure software that simplifies the way database environments are deployed and managed, has announced that it has closed $5.33 million in Series B financing. The new funds will accelerate geographic and staffing expansion to meet increased demand. Trinity Ventures led the funding round with full participation of the company's original investor, Nexus Venture Partners.

The company also announced the appointment of former Juniper Networks executive Justin Barney as president and COO. Prior to joining ScaleArc, Barney was vice president of sales for software in the Americas at Juniper Networks, where he joined via the acquisition of Ankeena Networks. He has also served as vice president of sales at Citrix Systems.

Cloud Cost Management Provider Cloudability Closes $1.1 Million in Funding

Cloudability has announced that it has closed a Seed investment round of $1.1 million, led by Trinity Ventures and Walden VC. The round also includes $255K in funding from a local consortium of Portland-based angel investors -- over half of the angel money in the round. Cloudability will use the Seed round to expand its engineering team, accelerate platform development and additional cloud-service integrations, and strengthen its position as the leading choice for businesses to manage their cloud costs and services.

Cloudability addresses the growing need to increase efficiency of cloud-use and provide cloud users with a simple way to monitor cloud costs, helping them avoid unnecessary overages and unused instances. Part of the Amazon Web Service (AWS) Solution Provider program, Cloudability offers access to cloud billing and usage data from over 80 providers like AWS, Rackspace and Heroku via an API, and connects to any business, financial system or web app they choose.
