Here's a great post I came across, listing the 5 Laws of Cloud Integration according to Shawn Rogers:
  • Data is widely distributed
  • Everything happens fast
  • Control is distributed
  • Connectivity becomes more challenging
  • Data volumes increase at explosive rate

Here’s the counter:

  1. Data from Cloud applications must be integrated with other systems to deliver maximum value.
  2. Cloud integration services must be easy to use for non-technical users.
  3. Cloud integration services must provide strong IT governance and control.
  4. Cloud integration services must provide broad end point support (apps, databases, files, etc.  - both on-premises and cloud).
  5. Cloud integration services must be able to handle large data volumes.
