InfoGin, mobile cloud service provider, is using MetraTech's Metanga multi-tenant billing application to monetize its new mobile platform, GinWiz.  GinWiz provides the tools for small to large businesses to create a mobile presence with minimum time to market.  For the past 12 years, InfoGin has built mobile Web services by using existing Web content.  GinWiz is its first do-it-yourself cloud service using InfoGin's patented technology, previously provided to large publishers and carriers.  Metanga has helped InfoGin quickly bring GinWiz to market.

My last blog talked about the ever-shifting balance of focus between data warehousing and mobile  apps in the cloud.  My and many others' guess is that companies are going to go full-steam in developing sexy, usable mobile apps that will attract customers to their goods & services first and then worry about changes in data processing and optimization as their traffic changes.

The rise of cloud computing technology in the desktop computer space--for both consumers and businesses--has been slow and gradual as users grow accustomed to saving and manipulating data stored in a nameless location by a faceless company. But on the mobile side of things, the transition from local computing and storage to cloud computing and storage is happening so quickly it's almost easy to miss.
