Last night was the first ever Customer Success Management Meet Up in San Mateo and it proved to be a very valuable experience. Starting out with around the room introductions, we met the Customer Success Managers from companies like Yammer, Cloudwords, Salesforce, Zendesk, Zuora, Clarizen, Birst and more. Many people attended looking to network and advance their knowledge and position in the industry.
The growth of the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or cloud industry has created new jobs, ideas and even new software around the concept of Customer Success. The trend in the software industry has been a move to the cloud. Once most people got there, it was all about mobile. Now that there are more players in the game, companies are focusing on better insight into user experiences in order to stay competitive in the market. If you run a search on LinkedIn for people with "Customer Success" in their job title, you will find around 2,300 results. What does a Manager of Customer Success really mean?
